Bayern Munich are ready to rival Manchester United for Gareth Bale’s signature this summer.
Injury-plagued Bale’s future at the Bernabeu is becoming increasingly uncertain, with the Wales star almost certain to leave in the summer transfer window.
A move to United has looked the most likely option but it would now appear that Bayern are amongst several clubs who are ready to battle Jose Mourinho’s men for the 28-year-old, according to a report in Don Balon.
Bayern have an ageing squad and are said to be ready to bid €100m (£88m) for the former Tottenham attacker.
However, the report goes on to add that United may now end their interest in bale due to the imminent capture of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
Manchester United will be concerned after Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga rejected the chance to join Real Madrid, meaning the La Liga giants could again target David de Gea (Daily Mirror).
